I worked at Ericsson Inc. in Dallas, TX, for 16 years as a Sr. Systems Deployment Engineer.  I have traveled all over the U.S. and Canada during that time – and have since changed jobs (and taken a huge pay cut) in order to move back home to Alabama (Hoover).  Just bought a house in the Lake Cyrus community.

President of the University of Alabama Alumni Chapter in Dallas, TX for 3 years – built it back from the ground up.  Played softball every year in Dallas while head-coaching my son’s baseball team the last 3 years.

For students interested in this career, what would you like to tell them?

You better study hard or you won’t make it.  If you don’t understand math/calculus, try the business school.

Do you currently still have any connections to MGM or the Semmes community?

Not a lot – since I have lived in Dallas all of these years.

Do you have your own family—spouse, children, pets?

Wife, 1 dog, One 8-yr old boy in 3rd grade who is a baseball phenom (played 1st year of kid pitch as a 7-yr old in a 9-10 yr old league, was the starting catcher, and made the all-star team).  He is also a straight A student.  Wife went to UA as well and majored in accounting.

Provide an interesting detail about you personally.

I have become “famous” for my work on the sports site BAMADOG.COM.  However, due to my new job’s crazy hours, I have put it on hold for the 2011 season.  I’m a die-hard Alabama fan and was in the Million Dollar Band at UA.  I attended 5 different bowl games while at UA including the 1992 championship season and game vs Miami in the Sugar Bowl.  I also tried to walk-on to the Alabama baseball team in my last year at Alabama… 69 guys tried out and I made it to the final 9 “cut”.  I was cut after that as only 1 walk-on was selected.  It was a crazy ride at Alabama… then at the end, I had 3 job offers and I took the job at Ericsson a week before I graduated.  I was very happy to say the least.  4 weeks after graduating, I was employed and living in Dallas.  On June 26, 2011, I moved to Hoover, AL to take my current job with AT&T.  I plan on looking to advance my career soon in other areas, but for now, I’m semi-content to be back in state.  ROLL TIDE!
