Graduation Exams Scheduled for March 19-March 23 PREPARE NOW!

The next graduation exams will be given on March 19 through March 23, and this week of testing will be for all students.  The schedule is Monday/Language; Tuesday/History; Wednesday/Biology; Thursday/Math; Friday/Reading.  This will be our seniors last chance to pass their trouble subjects before graduation.  Everyone needs to focus and take the tests seriously–especially seniors.

There are a few sources to help students prepare for the graduation exams.  There are online sources for science. (swstroud.com)  For history, students can check out rosemobile.com.  For all subjects, students can use usatestprep.com, connectedu.net and march2success.com.  In addition to independent study through Internet sites, students can also stay for after-school tutoring.  The after-school tutoring offered by MGM teachers is not just for falling class grades.  Students who want to do well on the graduation exam may also attend the sessions  which are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 until 3:45.  Students should bring any materials they have to practice with.  Math tutoring is held in the library.  History tutoring is done with Mrs. Gaudet in room 603.  Students can find help for science in Ms. Capers’ room 428.  For reading and language arts help, see Ms. King in room 401.  If students would like, they can schedule appointments with Mrs. Raiford for science help in room 602.  Ms. Camilleri also offers tutoring by appointment for language arts and reading.  She is located in room 410.  All after-school tutoring is free and available to all MGM students.  If students would like additional work to practice for the graduation exam at home, parents may pick up practice workbooks for their students in the parent resource center.  This parent resource center is located in the library with Ms. Holly Smith.  These workbooks are free of charge and are there to help our students.  Please, take advantage of these offers.

If students or parents have further questions about the exams or tutoring or the packets, they should contact Ms. Smith in the library.  Her number is 221-3153 extension 46012.  She can also be emailed at hsmith1@mcpss.com.
