Skol Vikings, Let’s Goooooooo. Hey!
Our mighty Viking football team started the year off right with two wins against Faith Academy and Citronelle High School. Although we’ve had two losses against Murphy and Davidson, our boys put up a fight and will not give up. The Vikings go into battle again this Friday night against Spanish Fort, and the fans are pumped to see our boys play their best game.
One position always looked at is the position of quarterback. MGM is represented by two senior quarterbacks this year. Harrison Corley is number 18, and Aaron Harwell wears number 9. These two boys love their football and have battled each other for the starting position for all four years of high school. The two just can’t beat each other out, and they are fine with that. Aaron and Harrison are very supportive of each other and their teammates. The two boys have always played football together beginning at Semmes Community Ballpark and then moving to Semmes Middle School. They now both compete for the absolute best high school in Mobile County, Mary G. Montgomery High School.
What most people do not know is that Aaron and Harrison have been best friends since kindergarten. They are together in and out of school and football. They both also play varsity baseball, love to fish, and are willing to do just about anything else for entertainment. The boys do everything together, and sometimes their thoughts are even the same. The only thing they don’t always agree on is their favorite football players and teams. Harrison likes Peyton Manning and the Colts. Aaron likes Michael Vick and the Falcons. Their lives pretty much revolve around football. Aaron and Harrison both want to go to college and continue to play ball. Neither knows where he wants to attend college. Aaron and Harrison are both laid-back, take it day-by-day guys. Harrison and Aaron’s teammates agree that both quarterbacks are hard workers and believe in the team. One player explained, “They are going hard because their new jerseys go hard.”
